Dunia perguruan tinggi harus benar-benar mempersiapkan ketrampilan dan pengetahuan para lulusannya serta mempunyai kemampuan berkomunikasi yang baik agar mampu bersaing dan memanfaatkan peluang untuk kesejahteraan dan kemajuan Bangsa Indonesia. Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan sebagai persiapan untuk menghadapi persaingan global, terutama untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang mampu bersaing, baik untuk melanjutkan ke jenjang pendidikan yang lebih tinggi maupun dalam dunia kerja. Pelatihan yang diampu oleh Lembaga Bahasa &amp; Pendidikan Profesional (LBPP) LIA Semarang tersebut dilaksanakan 5 hari dengan metode pembelajaran yang berpusat pada pembelajaran yang bersifat aktif. Peserta pelatihan diharapkan mampu menguasai materi yang disampaikan dengan baik dan dapat mengerjakan soal-soal TOEFL dengan benar.<\/p>\n<p>Pelatihan TOEFL terdiri dari 2 kegiatan, pertama adalah pemberian pengetahuan awal tentang apa dan bagaimana TOEFL dilaksanakan dan kedua adalah pemberian materi, latihan soal dan evaluasi. Pemberian pengetahuan awal tentang TOEFL kepada mahasiswa bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman sehingga mereka dapat mengenal detail TOEFL dengan baik. Pemberian materi, latihan soal dan evaluasi diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa inggris mahasiswa sehingga mereka terbiasa dengan tipe soal dan strategi dalam mengerjakan soal TOEFL.
